Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 in 1970) is an American former football tight end. Gonzalez was a player in the National Football League from 1997 until 2003. Gonzalez is considered to be one of the best tight ends to ever play. Additionally, he was the leader in receiving yards, and the third in total receptions, Gonzalez was the NFL tight end who had the most receptions.
Tony Gonzalez, a former Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro Tight End is currently an FOX Sport studio analyst. Gonzalez has been on FOX NFL KICKOFF (FOX's hour-long NFL pregame broadcast prior to FOX NFL SUNSET), which is broadcast each Sunday at 11:00 AM ET through the NFL season.
Gonzalez signed a new contract for The Falcons for two years and $14 million on March 15, 2013. The signing was in spite of being aware that Gonzalez was claiming he would like to retire after the 2013 NFL season. Randy Moss' retirement meant that Gonzalez was the league's top player of receiving yards in the last time during his playing career.
